Mr Konstantinos Tzinieris, CEO of ALPHA TRUST-ANDROMEDA S.A., commented: “The Greek market started the year of 2022 with optimism, but the continuing rise of inflation and the tightening of the monetary policy by the main Central Banks, had a negative effect in the Athens Stock Exchange, which eventually followed the global stock markets. The volatility is expected to continue, as the recent geopolitical developments concerning the invasion of Russia to Ukraine have been added to the existing uncertainties. However in the long term, the Greek economy is expected to strengthen from the funds of the European Recovery Fund, which will be directed to important sectors of the economy. In a global environment of low visibility, we believe that our long-term strategy will help us to navigate with safety, to the benefit of our shareholders”.
